Foxfire has gained impressive developments with new equestrian communities offering exceptional real estate investment property. In 2009, the Village annexed 1,500 acres called Stonehill Pines, LLC. Over the next ten to fifteen years this wooded area will be the home to two Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses, a five-star hotel, conference center and spa, and a variety of home sites, condominiums and townhouses. |

Foxfire Town Hall filled
nearly to capacity for a recent public hearing on the proposed annexation
agreement with Pinehurst. “It is important for us a village to grow as a
village. We are what we are and that is why we moved here, but it is
important to maintain viability and an ability to have a say on commercial
growth,” said Councilman Ed Lauer during his presentation to the Village
Council on Tuesday, December 8. “The agreement is a planning tool.”

Stonehill to be fourth Nicklaus Golf Club in US
The
Village moved another step towards welcoming their new, very exclusive
neighbor during a Special Meeting on Thursday, February 19 of the Foxfire
Planning Board. Before a packed room, representatives for Stonehill Pines
presented a revised Master Plan of the proposed 1,500 acre world-class
community of golf courses, hotel and spa, and one thousand new homes.
Stonehill Pines will be the newest addition to The Jack Nicklaus Golf
Club, one of only four locations in the United States and thirty-six
worldwide, an exclusive access and reciprocity program within the Jack
Nicklaus Signature Golf Course family. Handpicked by Nicklaus, these
courses are selected as being the most ideal locations in some of the most
sought-after markets around the world.
“This
will be a very special place and an instrumental part of the Nicklaus
legacy,” said Kevin Justice, president and CEO of Stonehill Capital Group.
“We want to keep the history and tradition of this area and build upon
that.” |
